50 Alarm super spicy burger

Could this be one of the hottest burgers around right now?

US food restaurant Slater’s 50/50 has released their burger of the month for August which is the 50 Alarm burger.

Sandwiched between the brioche bun is a fire beef burger with Colby Jack cheese, habanero poppers, sliced jalapenos and ghost chili bacon spread.

Naga Bhut Jolokia aka Ghost Chilies have a Scoville Heat Unit rating (the rating of chili heat) of between 855 thousand to 1.5 million, that is around about ten times more than a standard habanero chili.

All together this burger sounds like it will blow your head off, and the restaurant even requires customers to sign a waiver before they eat it!

Let us know if you have taken the challenge and eaten one of these burgers

Sheep to Warn Shepherds of Wolves by Text Message

Sheep in Switzerland are to warn shepherds of wolf attacks by sending them a text message.

A special collar is being trialled which is worn by the sheep, the collar detects the sheep’s heartbeat which changes a significant amount during a wolf attack. The collar will then send out a repellant to scare the wolf off, whilst also sending a text message to the sheep’s owner.

A prototype collar is expected by autumn with testing planned for 2013.
